Chengdu in 12 Hours

I decided to visit Chengdu for one reason: to spend the night in a 24 hour spa I saw on an Instagram Reel. That sounded awesome. So I arrived in Chengdu at 7:15pm with a flight out at 8am the next day. My itinerary had two stops - a Michelin recommended dan dan noodles spot and then the 24 hour spa.

First up, noodles.

These were insanely good. Even after the Chongqing flavorbomb madness I think these might be pound for pound the single best dish of noodles I had in China. They were exquisite. I now see why they have five Michelin guide signs prominently displayed above their kitchen. Chengdu was off to a great start.

I took a taxi to the spa. I paid $40 to enter and spend the night. This place was insane. I will let the photos do most of the talking.
This is the outfit they gave me upon checking in.

The room to freshen up, complete with about 20 different skin and hair products.

The spa had all of these vibey side rooms with heated stones, hanging beds, and so much more.

I couldn't take photos of the men's area but it had a sauna, steam room, multiple hot tubs, and this main hot tub with these crazy underwater metal chairs that electrocute and pulse your legs.
The main area had a DJ set, a big ol' pool and even more side rooms.

This side area had all of these attached personal sauna rooms.

And then I discovered the upstairs. This was the hallway that led me there.

There was a whole lounge area complete with unlimited fresh fruit and drinks.

I wandered some more past video game rooms, a movie theater, and this adorable reading area.

I met these three hilarious guys from England. Two of them are Pakistani and the other is Egyptian, so we had some shared content to discuss.

Eventually I had to retire. The personal sleeping rooms were all taken, so I slept in the movie theater.

I woke up bright and early for my flight. The spa into the fancy new Chengdu airport was quite the experience. We facially scanned to get on the plane.
I've tried to make this clear from various blog posts but China has astonished me. They are doing things I have never even dreamed of. The prices are the same as a place like Indonesia but with state of the art infrastructure. The bullet trains, glass bridges, outdoor elevators, cable cars, etc. have all left me thoroughly impressed.
